Mission Statement: To provide door-to-door transportation for persons with disabilities, including the non-ambulatory

Service Hours: 5:45 am – 6:30 pm, Monday – Friday
7:45 am – 6:30 pm, Saturday
No service on Sundays or major holidays
Ride Request Taken: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm everyday (voice mail on holidays and weekends)

Services:

  • “Lift Service,” a demand-responsive transportation system.  Rides must be scheduled by 5:00 pm the day before needed

Eligibility: Anyone in Topeka within a three-quarter mile radius of a fixed bus route, which, because of a disability is unable to use the regular fixed-route service. Services outside of the three-quarter mile radius, but within the contiguous corporate city limits of Topeka available for a premium fare. Passengers must be certified as eligible prior to arranging rides.

How to Apply: Call (785) 783-7000 for information and/or certification form.  Certification may take up to 21 days after TMTA receives the full completed form.

Fees: $4.00 per passenger, one-way.  If needed, one personal care attendant (PCA) may ride for free with a certified Lift rider upon request. One escort may ride with a certified Lift rider, but must pay $4.00 one-way. Additional escorts may ride at the regular fare if space is available.
